SUMMARY:Banff 2024-2025 Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 49th Annual Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour! The Arcadian Shop is once again proud to present two nights of festival films on Friday February 14th and Saturday February 15th\, 2025\, at the Duffin Theatre at Lenox Memorial High School. Tickets are $20.00 per night. As in previous years\, proceeds from the event will benefit the Lenox Educational Enrichment Foundation (LEEF). \nThe Banff Mountain Film Festival is one of the flagship programs of Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. The Festival began in 1976 in the small Rocky Mountain town of Banff\, Alberta. A tight-knit group of climbers and outdoor folk looked for an annual event to entertain them during the shoulder season between climbing and skiing. As the story goes\, several late night meetings and a few beers later The Banff Festival of Mountaineering Films was born. What began as a one-day festival of climbing films\, has now blossomed into a nine-day event in Banff and a year-round film tour which encompasses over 800 screenings on every continent. \nEvery year\, the Banff World Tour team licenses about 30 films featuring a range of styles and themes\, including climbing\, skiing\, kayaking\, biking\, adventure\, culture and the environment. When making this selection many factors are considered: comments made by our pre-screening committee\, audience reaction to the films shown in Banff\, and feedback we’ve received from the tour audience. \nAs we approach the screening dates we will have more information about the individual films we will be showing each night\, so stay tuned. Don’t want to miss any of the films? Be sure to purchase tickets for both nights\, you won’t be disapointed! \nThe Lenox Crew Team will be offering light dinner fare from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the high school cafeteria. Baked goods and refreshments will also be available at intermission both nights. Theatre opens at 6:00pm\, shows start at 7:00pm. \nWhen purchasing tickets online\, please be sure to select “In Store Pickup” at checkout. You may pick your tickets here at the Shop at 91 Pittsfield Road in Lenox\, or at the door the night of the show. All ticket sales are final\, no refunds or exchanges.
