Nestled alongside the Town of Lenox’s popular Kennedy Park, the Shop has been the Berkshires\u2019 go-to destination for outdoor enthusiasts since 1974. Whether you’re gearing up for a hike, bike ride, kayak adventure, or a snowy cross-country trek, we’re here to equip you for every step of your journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Arcadian Shop\u2019s story began with a simple dream: turning a love of the outdoors into a way of life. Founded in 1974, the Shop has grown from its humble beginnings on Church Street in Lenox to its current location at 91 Pittsfield Road\u2014a historic building dating back to 1781. Under the stewardship of Larry Lane, who started the business with his friend John Fernsall prior to becoming sole owner in 1982, the Arcadian Shop evolved into a hub for outdoor gear, community events, and adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, Larry passed the torch to three longtime employees and Berkshire County natives: Chris Calvert, Keith Dupuis, and Jeff Minkler. Together, with over 75 years of combined experience, they continue the tradition of providing exceptional service, quality gear, and a welcoming environment that feels like family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes the Arcadian Shop unique? Step out our back door and onto more than 500 acres of trails perfect for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. We even encourage you to test your new gear right here on-site!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the snow melts, our shop transforms into a hub for biking, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Need rentals? We’ve got you covered. From bikes to paddleboards, plus racks to transport your gear, we make it easy to explore the beauty of the Berkshires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re more than just a retailer\u2014we\u2019re your partner in adventure.
