Banff Center Announces 2026 World Tour Films

This is the moment we’ve been waiting for, as the Arcadian Shop continues to prepare for our annual hosting of the Banff Center Mountain Film Festival on Friday and Saturday nights, February 13th and 14th, at the Duffin Theatre in Lenox. Many of you have already purchased your tickets for one or both nights, but if you’ve been waiting to see the line-up first, Banff has just released the program schedules for our screenings.

Each year, the Banff Mountain Film Festival receives hundreds of submissions to its film competition, from some of the world’s most compelling outdoor filmmakers. From these submissions, approximately 80–85 finalists are selected to screen over nine epic days in Banff. The World Tour is designed to offer a concentrated snapshot of that experience—distilling the diversity, energy, and spirit of the Festival into a program just a few hours long.

Friday Night: Crevasse

Friday night’s Crevasse lineup dives into narrative-driven storytelling that goes beyond action to explore the personal journeys that define adventure. Expect powerful films that weave dynamic movement and meaningful reflection—stories of climbers navigating cruxes of both rock and life, skiers chasing pow beneath towering seracs, and explorers who find purpose in places few have dared to tread.

Highlights include Jaunt, a quietly clever short that follows Justice as he uses imagination and routine as a daily escape from office life—a reminder that adventure doesn’t always require a trailhead. At the other end of the spectrum is Reel Rock: Riders on the Storm, which captures Belgian climbers Siebe Vanhee, Nico Favresse, Sean Villanueva O’Driscoll, and Drew Smith battling relentless Patagonian weather on Torre Central’s East Face in pursuit of a first free ascent. Together with films like Bridgers, Beyond Parallels, and One Step Ahead, this will be a night of powerful storytelling that explores why people are drawn to difficult places—and what those places give back in return.

Saturday Night: Moraine

Saturday brings the Moraine program, a beautifully balanced celebration of adventure, community, and environment. This curated collection pairs breathtaking cinematography with deeply human stories—from A Baffin Vacation, Love on Ice, where adventurers Erik and Sarah kiteski along Baffin Island’s remote Arctic coastline, skiing mountains and kayaking new rivers over 69 days, to Best Day Ever, which follows adaptive mountain bikers Greg Durso and Allie Bianchi as they ride beyond barriers with grit, humor, and community spirit.

These, and other films in the Moraine line-up, invite audiences into worlds where the landscape shapes the experience and connection, adrenaline, and joy are equally at home on snowy fjords or forest trails. Whether it’s remote wilderness exploration or the camaraderie of two riders finding freedom on the trails, we’re confident Saturday will be a night of inspiration and awe!

Tickets can be purchased online or at the Shop during business hours. If purchasing online, please note that we do not mail tickets but we will hold them under your name at the store, or at the door on the night of the show. For more information call (413)637-3010. Look forward to seeing you at the theatre!
