The Terra Trail tire is made to get you over rough and smooth terrain, offering more comfort for your adventure.
Engineered for the unknown, the Terra Trail rolls fast in a straight line, similar to the Terra Speed. However, it has a much larger and robust tread pattern on the shoulder for added control when encountering more challenging terrain. When the trail becomes more technical, Terra Trail gives you the control you need in every corner.
The rolling properties of the rubber compound of a tire are primarily determined by three interacting factors: stiction (grip), rolling resistance, and mileage (longevity). With the Black Chili compound, a tread compound always based on the latest knowledge of polymers and raw material research, a solution is supplied to the cycling industry. Depending on the application of a tire, the compound formulation is adjusted for the specific discipline.
For Black Chili, special synthetic rubbers are refined with proven natural rubber to high-performance tread mixtures. To these mixtures, soot particles are added, which in turn are optimized in shape and surface properties.
The extra all-round puncture protection layer renders the casings extremely durable and resistant to damage or penetration from foreign elements. Treads and sidewalls are equally protected, and are 25% lighter and offer 30% more puncture protection than their predecessors protected by DuraSkin. Rolling resistance and absorption have also significantly improved. The new Revolution Tubeless Ready Bead improves the installation of Tubeless Ready Tires. For tubeless sealing, the use of Continental RevoSealant is recommended.
This carcass construction is robust and impervious against damage and penetration from foreign objects. The result: versatile, low weight, and an attractive design. In addition, tires made using this technology can also be used as Tubeless or with an inner tube.
For E-Bike tires, Continental draws on over 100 years of experience with moped and motorcycle tires. All city/trekking tires are rated to a standard speed of at least 25 km/h. Those tires marked e50 are also certified for S-Pedelecs. With their high-quality structure, puncture protection is high and the rolling resistance is low, offering protection from premature wear brought about by the additional driving force.
