This dish truly is a fiesta for your taste buds! It is delicious on its own, in a tortilla, or scooped on your favorite chips.
Backpackers Pantry included all of your Tex-Mex favorites: rice, beef, pinto beans, cheddar cheese, corn, tomatoes, onions, and sour cream. They also added a delicious blend of Hatch green chiles and chipotle for a little kick. Note flavors of cilantro, lime, and cumin as well.
Ingredients:
Precooked Long Grain White Rice, Precooked Dehydrated Pinto Beans, Freeze-dried Cooked Beef (Beef, Salt), Freeze-dried Cheddar Cheese (Pasteurized Milk, Cheese Cultures, Salt, Enzymes, Annatto (Coloring), Powdered Cellulose (to Prevent Caking)), Freeze-dried Super Sweet Corn, Dried Tomato, Sour Cream Powder (Cultured Cream, Nonfat Milk), Dried Red Bell Pepper, Dried Chipotle Chiles, Dried Cilantro, Crystallized Lime (Citric Acid, Lime Oil, Lime Juice Concentrate), Oregano, Ground Cumin.
Preparation Instructions:
- Remove and discard oxygen absorber.
- Add 1 1/2 cups (360mL) of boiling water.
- Stir well, seal pouch, wait 8 minutes.
- Stir again, reseal, wait 7 more minutes. Enjoy!
Rehydration time doubles every 5,000 feet of elevation gain. Directions are set for 5,000 feet.
